On 19th February 2025, NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) and Bharat Light and Power (BLP) formalized a collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance green energy objectives. The primary focus of the partnership is to delve into the off-take of green hydrogen and its derivatives from NGEL to third parties. Additionally, the agreement includes exploring opportunities for marketing captured carbon or biogenic carbon from NGEL. NGEL and its affiliates are tasked with establishing the necessary infrastructure for the green hydrogen project under Build-Own-Operate (B-O-O) mode, in line with their Net Zero commitments. This initiative resonates with the Government of India's (GoI) push towards achieving a carbon-neutral economy.
