Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for NTPC's Green Hydrogen Hub Project at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 1.85 lakh crore. This project, part of the Government's focus on clean energy, will play a crucial role in India's pursuit of energy independence and net zero goals. The Green Hydrogen hub, under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, is designed to facilitate India in achieving a net zero emission target, creating over 57,000 jobs and significantly impacting the local economy. With a vision to contribute to India's non-fossil energy capacity target of 500 GW by 2030, the project will involve substantial investment in renewable energy capacities and the production of green hydrogen derivatives targeted at the export market. Spread across 1600 acres, the project will encompass a range of facilities including manufacturing units, chemical zones, storage terminals, transmission corridors, desalination plants, and more. The National Green Hydrogen Mission is expected to attract significant investments, create job opportunities, reduce fossil fuel imports, and cut carbon emissions by 2030, aligning with India's clean energy transition goals.
