In a significant move towards sustainable energy initiatives, GRIDCO in Bhubaneswar signed an agreement with Avaada Green under OERC Green Energy Open Access Regulations to provide a green power banking facility for a 300 MW Green Ammonia Plant in Gopalpur, Ganjam. Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo highlighted Odisha's approval of 14 Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Projects with a proposed investment of Rs 2 Lakh crores and employment opportunities for 22,000 individuals. Emphasizing the importance of renewable power for green hydrogen and ammonia production, he stated that Odisha has created provisions for Banking of Green Energy, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to developers.
