Sembcorp Green Hydrogen Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Singapore's Sembcorp Industries, has announced an agreement with two Japanese companies to supply green ammonia from its plant in India. The company has secured land for the facility in India and is progressing towards the front-end engineering design award after completing a feasibility study. The project, aimed at producing 200,000 metric tonnes per annum of green ammonia, will utilize renewable energy sources. The agreement was presented at the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Clean Economy Investor Forum, showcasing collaboration between Japan, Singapore, and India for a low-carbon supply chain. This initiative aligns with Sembcorp's commitment to driving energy transition and leveraging its expertise in India's renewable energy sector. The consortium's agreement to explore supplying Japan with green ammonia signifies a step towards enhancing sustainable practices. The two-day IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum brought together 14 members, emphasizing the global focus on clean energy and sustainability.
