France's Technip Energies revealed its expansion plans in India by announcing the establishment of a new R&D laboratory in Chennai and the opening of an office in Ahmedabad in 2025. The company, specializing in engineering and technology for the energy sector, aims to strengthen its research and development capabilities in India, a market it has been active in for over five decades. With a workforce of around 4,100 employees in India, representing 24% of its global staff, Technip Energies views the country as a key strategic location. India, as the world's third-largest greenhouse gas emitter, is focusing on increasing non-fossil fuel capacity to achieve ambitious targets by 2030 and beyond. Technip Energies is also venturing into green energy initiatives, including the establishment of a 'Green H2 & Power-to-X' center in Delhi to tap into markets for green hydrogen and ammonia. Additionally, the company plans significant improvements to its Dahej manufacturing facility, with the construction of a new jetty and expansion of facilities by 2025-26, indicating a commitment to further growth in the region.
