TotalEnergies and Air Liquide have signed agreements to develop green hydrogen projects in the Netherlands as part of TotalEnergies' 2030 ambition to decarbonize hydrogen in its European refineries. These projects involve producing 45,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, with the majority generated by the OranjeWind offshore wind farm. A joint venture between the two companies will establish a 250 MW electrolyzer near the Zeeland refinery, aiming to cut CO2 emissions by 300,000 tons per year. Another agreement will see TotalEnergies receiving 15,000 tons of green hydrogen per year for its Antwerp platform, further reducing CO2 emissions. These initiatives are set to contribute significantly to European renewable energy targets. TotalEnergies' commitment to decarbonization includes contracting over 170,000 tons of green hydrogen annually in various European locations.
