CTF Solar and SunHydrogen Collaborate to Scale Up Green Hydrogen Panel Production
Key Ideas
  • CTF Solar and SunHydrogen partner to enhance solar cell modules for efficient hydrogen production.
  • The collaboration aims to produce green hydrogen panels for a pilot demonstration and involve an industrial partner for scaling up.
  • Honda joins to develop installation-ready hydrogen panels, emphasizing efficient production.
  • SunHydrogen focuses on integrating catalysts and stabilization coatings with CTF Solar for improved performance and durability.
CTF Solar has entered into an agreement with SunHydrogen to integrate solar cell modules into SunHydrogen’s technology for more efficient hydrogen production. The partnership will focus on producing green hydrogen panels, starting with a pilot demonstration of 50 panels. Both companies plan to involve an industrial partner to develop the necessary infrastructure for scaling up the production. Honda has also joined the collaboration to work on developing installation-ready hydrogen panels. SunHydrogen is leading efforts to combine catalysts and stabilization coatings into their modules to enhance performance and durability. Prior to this agreement, SunHydrogen had been adapting CTF Solar’s commercial solar cell module design to create a hydrogen module that facilitates production with minimal modifications. This collaboration comes as part of SunHydrogen’s ongoing efforts to scale up its green hydrogen panel production. The company CEO recognizes the challenges of scaling up but sees their industrial partner, COTEC, as the ideal collaborator to overcome these hurdles.
