DH2 Energy's VVR Green project in Portugal has been granted national interest status by the Portuguese Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP). The project, located in Vila Velha de Ródão, Castelo Branco, will feature a 35MW electrolysis plant and 49MWp solar photovoltaic capacity, with plans to expand to 75MW hydrogen production. The initiative aims to produce 1,650 tonnes of hydrogen annually in the initial phase, contributing to decarbonisation and boosting the regional economy. Nuno Gonçalves, DH2 Energy Portugal's Director, expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the project's role in promoting sustainability. In addition to the Portugal project, DH2 Energy has received approval for a 35MW green hydrogen production plant in Aragon, Spain, scheduled to commence operations in 2025.
