Polish renewable energy company Hynfra has announced ambitious plans to establish a green hydrogen plant in Egypt with a significant investment of nearly $10.6 billion. The plant, initially designed to produce 100,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually, is slated to be financed by foreign creditors at a cost of about $1.6 billion. Hynfra aims to boost production to one million tonnes per year, with all output earmarked for export to the European Union under long-term agreements. The venture in Egypt, spearheaded by Hynfra's founder and CEO Tomoho Umeda, is part of the company's global strategy that envisions the completion of 5 green hydrogen plants, with the Egyptian facility expected to be operational by 2030. Furthermore, the collaboration between Hynfra and Jordan Green Ammonia for a green ammonia project demonstrates a wider commitment to sustainable energy endeavors. The project's progress is evident through the announcement of the completion of the feasibility study earlier this year.
