Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, has announced partnerships with Norwegian energy developers to explore renewable and green hydrogen opportunities. The agreements with Equinor, Aker Group, and Yara aim to enhance collaboration on existing projects and invest in prospects along the power-to-green hydrogen and green ammonia value chains. Masdar's CEO, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between the UAE and Norway, emphasizing their shared legacy and commitment to clean energy. Masdar has ambitious targets, including reaching 100GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and producing one million tonnes per year of green hydrogen within the next decade. Additionally, the company will collaborate with TotalEnergies to develop a green hydrogen project in Abu Dhabi, focusing on sustainable aviation fuel production. The partnerships and agreements underscore the growing momentum towards sustainable development and clean energy initiatives in the UAE and globally.
