During the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Netherlands, Oman and the Netherlands signed three significant agreements focusing on advancing the hydrogen sector. The first agreement is centered around establishing a world-first commercial export corridor for liquefied hydrogen connecting Oman, the Netherlands, and Germany. This corridor will comply with EU standards and provide a direct export route for hydrogen, enhancing global energy security. Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) will play a vital role in implementing Oman's green hydrogen strategy, while OQ Group will develop the necessary infrastructure. The use of advanced technologies for efficient hydrogen transport and the establishment of regasification terminals in the Netherlands will facilitate the supply of hydrogen to industrial sectors in Europe. The partnership between OQ and Royal Vopak aims to develop Duqm in Oman as a hub for hydrocarbons, chemicals, and low-carbon products, further supporting Oman's energy sector. The collaboration is anticipated to drive economic growth, attract expertise and financing, and align strategic investments to create a sustainable energy future. Through these agreements, Oman is set to lead in green hydrogen production and export, positioning itself as a key player in the global energy market.
