Türkiye's Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) is actively working on advancing hydrogen technologies for military purposes. The initiative aims to create innovative propulsion systems that are not only silent and emissions-free but also offer superior performance with minimal heat generation. By investing in these hydrogen-powered systems, Türkiye is striving to boost its competitiveness globally in the defense industry. The SSB is focusing on acquiring expertise in various technologies related to hydrogen, including storage, combustion, and fuel cell systems, to equip law enforcement agencies with modern and efficient tools. The plans include implementing hydrogen technologies in unmanned systems, intelligent systems, engine and power transmission systems, as well as strategic systems across land, air, sea vehicles, and even space platforms. Through strategic projects like the National Technology Move and the National Space Program, Türkiye aims to solidify its position in the defense industry by harnessing the potential of hydrogen technologies. The SSB's recent 11th Research and Development Panel highlighted the call for proposals for hydrogen technology development in military equipment. Local industrial organizations and universities are encouraged to collaborate on projects that drive the use of hydrogen in defense applications. The projects initiated under this hydrogen technology initiative are set to not only strengthen Türkiye's defense industry but also contribute significantly to the development of domestic technologies and enhance the country's standing in the global defense market.
