The ABL Group has partnered with the AquaVentus Förderverein project to enhance European green hydrogen capacity by utilizing North Sea offshore wind resources. The AquaVentus initiative plans to deploy offshore wind farms to power electrolysers at sea, with a targeted total capacity of 10GW to generate 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen. ABL Group, with its presence in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, France, and the UK, will contribute engineering and marine consultancy services to the AquaVentus consortium. ABL's expertise in offshore engineering and hydrogen will be instrumental in supporting various AquaVentus initiatives, particularly in pipeline engineering management and discipline engineering services. Notably, ABL's recent involvement in overseeing the construction of a 50km subsea pipeline for green hydrogen transmission into the German grid highlights its commitment to hydrogen innovation. Nils Falkenhorst, the Germany Country Manager of OWC within ABL Group, emphasized their extensive experience in over 50 hydrogen projects globally, showcasing competence in power-to-X project development, hydrogen infrastructure, and safety applications. The collaboration with TÜV SÜD, initiated in 2022, further solidifies ABL's role in promoting offshore hydrogen production in Germany.
