The bidding process initiated by the DOE in February covers exploration for coal, petroleum, and native hydrogen, with a specific focus on regions like the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region and other designated areas. The level of interest in exploring native hydrogen has been remarkable, with the deadline for bids set for August 27. Recognizing the pivotal role of hydrogen in the ongoing energy transition, the DOE emphasizes its innovative nature and diverse utility across different sectors such as power generation, transportation, commercial activities, and industrial applications. To drive the hydrogen agenda forward, the department has formed the Hydrogen Energy Industry Committee to supervise the implementation of a national policy framework established earlier this year.
