French hydrogen producer Lhyfe has received a €149m subsidy from the French government for its Green Horizon project, located in Gonfreville-l’Orcher near Le Havre, northern France. The project, designated an Important Project of Common European Interest by the European Commission, will produce up to 34 tonnes of green hydrogen per day once completed. Funding will be disbursed over four years, with an initial payment of €18m in June 2025. The project aligns with France's 2030 hydrogen target and aims to demonstrate the feasibility and scalability of renewable hydrogen production in an industrial setting. Lhyfe's CEO expressed confidence in surpassing the 100 MW milestone in installed electrolysis capacity with this project, showcasing a significant industrial advancement.
