The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) partnered with the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the UK government's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to organize a two-day standards partnership workshop on Green Hydrogen in New Delhi. The workshop aimed to strengthen India-UK cooperation on hydrogen standardization through Green Hydrogen Production & Regulations. The event marked a significant step in fostering international cooperation for clean energy transitions and emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange, standardization, and innovation for building a sustainable hydrogen market. The workshop highlighted the shared ambition of India and the UK to lead in green hydrogen and support a net zero future. It was part of the UK government's Standards Partnership program to promote the use of international standards in India, with a focus on safe, scalable, and globally harmonized regulations, codes, and standards. The program also addressed the adoption of fast-track PAS standards and global hydrogen certification. Furthermore, the workshop contributed to BIS's efforts under the National Green Hydrogen Mission by identifying gaps in standards, exploring new areas, and connecting with experts. The event brought together policymakers, technical experts, and industry leaders from India and the UK to discuss and share insights.
