Avina Clean Hydrogen has chosen southwest Illinois as the location for its $820 million investment in a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project. This investment will allow the company to establish a facility for SAF production, aiding in meeting Illinois' clean energy objectives and supporting the state's clean energy economy. The facility, utilizing KBR's alcohol-to-jet technology, is set to produce up to 120 million gallons of SAF annually and is projected to significantly reduce carbon emissions in aviation.
