Regulatory advancements including federal incentives, tax benefits, and the biomethane guarantee of origin certificate are playing a crucial role in supporting industry growth and decarbonization efforts. The industry faces challenges like the absence of specific policies, lack of financing and incentives, and competition with fossil fuels. Despite this, industry experts remain optimistic about the future growth potential, with projections suggesting a significant increase in the number of biogas plants in the coming years. The global biogas market is also expected to grow substantially, with Brazil contributing significantly to this growth. The country's focus on clean energy and emissions reduction aligns with the global trend towards sustainable energy solutions. Initiatives like the #MakingBiogasHappen programme by the World Biogas Association are further supporting the industry's development through regulatory frameworks and certification schemes.
