The 9th Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency is scheduled to convene in Amman, Jordan, with representatives from 13 countries coming together to deliberate on the future of renewable energy and green education in the Arab world. Discussions will revolve around topics such as electric vehicle incentives, the advancement of green hydrogen, and the incorporation of technical and vocational green education into national educational systems. The forum also aims to explore opportunities for international electrical connectivity to bolster renewable energy infrastructure across Arab nations. In a bid to encourage innovation and creativity, the forum will introduce initiatives like the Arab Solar Car Race and Solar Boat Race, engaging students from schools and universities in sustainable technology development. Mohammad Al Taani, Secretary General of the Arab Renewable Energy Commission, highlighted the substantial investments expected in renewable energy in the Arab region, exceeding $1 trillion by 2040. He emphasized Jordan's strategic geographic position, acting as a bridge between Europe and Africa, for promoting international electrical connectivity initiatives. Moreover, plans were announced for the establishment of the Islamic Renewable Energy Organization, which aims to facilitate scientific, technical, and technological collaboration among Islamic countries while respecting their unique cultural and societal values. This initiative signifies a step towards fostering cooperation and advancement in renewable energy within the Islamic world.
