The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, successfully organized the 4th edition of the Global Renewable Energy Investors’ Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The CEO Roundtable focused on 'Accelerating Green Hydrogen Production through Green Jobs in Gujarat,' highlighting the state's commitment to the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Gujarat, with its significant domestic hydrogen demand and abundant renewable energy potential, aims to produce 3 MMTPA of Green Hydrogen. The event facilitated discussions on critical factors influencing Green Hydrogen pricing, leveraging industrial clusters, and overcoming logistical challenges. Startups presented innovative ideas for cost-effective Green Hydrogen production using biomass and wastewater. Gujarat's strong renewable energy sector, boasting over 29 GW capacity and targeting 100 GW by 2030, positions it as a frontrunner in the clean energy transition. The state is focusing on offshore wind, wind-solar hybrid projects, and energy storage systems to promote round-the-clock power. With plans for a 500 MW offshore wind project and a potential for 30 GW pumped hydro projects, Gujarat is committed to leading in Green Hydrogen production while creating new job opportunities in the renewable energy sector. The CEO Roundtable showcased Gujarat's readiness to contribute meaningfully to India's green hydrogen goals and drive sustainable energy solutions.
