Amogy, an ammonia-to-power solutions provider, has established its presence in South Korea by opening an office in Pangyo Techno Valley. The move aims to strengthen partnerships with major players like SK Innovation, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Hanwha in the ammonia and hydrogen fuel industry. South Korea's focus on clean energy and support through policies such as the Clean Hydrogen Production Standard (CHPS) and Distributed Energy Act (DEA) influenced Amogy's decision to expand. Dr. Stone Zhang, Amogy's managing director, highlighted the country's commitment to generating electricity from hydrogen and ammonia, projecting a 2% share by 2030, rising to 7% by 2035. Amogy is collaborating with industry leaders to develop ammonia-fueled solutions for power generation and maritime use. The company's recent achievement includes launching the world's first ammonia-powered maritime vessel, with plans to commercialize emission-reducing solutions with a strong focus on the shipping and power sectors.
