China Petroleum and Chemical Corp, widely known as Sinopec, has completed the expansion of its hydrogen fuel cell supply center in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province. The expansion has seen the daily production capacity increase to 15 metric tons, providing 99.999 percent pure hydrogen with an annual output of 5,100 tons. This expansion positions the center as the largest in South China, significantly bolstering the region's hydrogen energy supply. Sinopec's goal is to support the rapid growth of the hydrogen industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Prior to this upgrade, the facility had an annual production capacity of 1,500 tons, thus this recent development has more than tripled its output capacity. The strategic expansion ensures a consistent supply of hydrogen to key cities including Guangzhou, Foshan, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Furthermore, Sinopec has been proactive in enhancing its hydrogen energy infrastructure, establishing a total of 11 hydrogen fuel cell supply centers throughout China and setting up 142 hydrogen refueling stations across the country. This integrated approach aims to facilitate the adoption of hydrogen energy and drive the industry forward.
