Hygreen Energy, a global electrolyzer manufacturer and hydrogen technology developer, recently delivered a 25-megawatt (MW) electrolyzer system to Huadian Weifang Power Generation Co., Ltd. in Weifang, Shandong Province, China. This project represents the largest hydrogen production initiative in the region and signifies a significant step in integrating electrolyzers into large-scale projects for the energy transition. The system, with a capacity to produce 3.6 tons of hydrogen per day at 99.999% purity, includes five 5 MW electrolyzer stacks and accompanying balance-of-system equipment for seamless integration. The project, integrated into the Huadian Weifang power plant, aims to reduce renewable energy waste and enhance the local power grid's resilience. The produced hydrogen will be used for on-site refueling and blended with natural gas for industrial and residential purposes.
