Irish Renewable Energy Developer Hidrigin Partners with Clean Power Hydrogen for Green Hydrogen Technology Expansion
Key Ideas
- Clean Power Hydrogen PLC has signed a licensing agreement and sales contract with Irish renewable energy developer Hidrigin for the production of green hydrogen technology, with a focus on membrane-free electrolysers.
- Hidrigin will have the exclusive rights to manufacture up to two gigawatts of CPH2's electrolysers for 20 years, marking a significant step towards expanding green hydrogen production.
- The partnership includes the purchase of a 1-megawatt electrolyser, manufacturing by Jones Engineering in Ireland, technical oversight by Lagan MEICA, and integration into Hidrigin's renewable energy projects for commercial green hydrogen production.
- With a substantial funding of €100 million secured, Hidrigin plans to initiate a green hydrogen pilot project in 2025 and invest up to €500 million in renewable energy projects and CPH2 electrolyser manufacturing across Europe by 2030.
Clean Power Hydrogen PLC (AIM:CPH2) has entered into a significant partnership with Irish renewable energy developer Hidrigin to expand green hydrogen technology. The agreement allows Hidrigin to produce up to two gigawatts of CPH2's membrane-free electrolysers exclusively for the next 20 years. Hidrigin will acquire a 1-megawatt MFE220 electrolyser from CPH2, with manufacturing to be carried out by Jones Engineering in County Carlow, Ireland. To ensure successful installation and commissioning, Lagan MEICA has been appointed as the technical advisor. The green hydrogen produced will be integrated into Hidrigin's solar and wind farms for commercial sale through the Lisheen BioEnergy Campus. With €100 million in funding, Hidrigin's green hydrogen pilot project is scheduled to commence in 2025, with plans to invest up to €500 million in renewable energy projects and CPH2 electrolyser manufacturing by 2030. Clean Power Hydrogen PLC will benefit from revenue generated through licensing fees, component sales, and technology fees as Hidrigin scales up production. Clean Power's CEO, Jon Duffy, highlighted the importance of licensing agreements in scaling the business globally and accelerating market penetration of their green hydrogen technology.
