British climate tech startup Levidian has announced a strategic collaboration with Swedish deep-tech startup Graphmatech to co-develop new graphene-based polymer solutions for the hydrogen sector and other high-growth industries. Levidian's patented LOOP technology captures carbon from methane before combustion, allowing heavy emitters and hard-to-abate industries to decarbonize gas flows while producing clean hydrogen and high-quality graphene. On the other hand, Graphmatech's Aros Graphene® technology facilitates efficient integration and dispersion of graphene into traditional materials, enhancing them with graphene's properties like strength, conductivity, and barrier capabilities. The companies aim to accelerate graphene market adoption by manufacturing polymer-graphene composites for industrial applications, particularly emphasizing pipelines and hydrogen pressure vessels where graphene can significantly reduce gas leakage. This innovative partnership will see product development conducted in the UK and Sweden, with plans for expansion in the Middle East, specifically in Abu Dhabi. Levidian is also scouting locations for a new production and delivery center in the region, expected to create numerous job opportunities. The collaboration between Levidian and Graphmatech comes at a crucial time for the hydrogen economy, given the projected surge in global hydrogen demand.
