The Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) in Oman is actively working on projects to enhance local content and achieve sustainable development. Dr Ali bin Salim al Rajhi highlighted the ministry's focus on various programmes to boost local content in line with the National Policy for Local Content. Initiatives include improving skills through training, creating job opportunities, and supporting SMEs in the minerals sector. Notably, MEM is also overseeing the National System Readiness Laboratory to support the green hydrogen sector and maximize local investment. The ministry's efforts in supervising manufacturing projects like the Pottery Innovation Unit and the Omani Sarooj Factory aim to diversify income sources. Oman's abundant metallic mineral resources and industrial raw materials further provide opportunities for economic support. Additionally, MEM's strategy for social responsibility in the oil and gas sector aims to promote sustainability and community service, displaying a holistic approach to development.
