The UTM Centre of Hydrogen Energy (CHE) collaborated with TNB Integrated Learning Solutions (TNB ILSAS) to organize a Bioenergy Training Course for executives of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in Bangi, Selangor. The program aimed to educate TNB executives, including project directors, senior managers, and engineers, on bioenergy technologies during the energy transition phase. The training sessions held on July 30-31 and November 20-21, 2024, featured expert speakers from UTM CHE covering topics such as bioenergy, biomass feedstocks, biofuel production, biogas applications, and sustainability. Participants showed high engagement and interest in incorporating bioenergy into Malaysia's energy strategy. This initiative aligns with TNB ILSAS's mission to raise awareness about sustainable energy and Malaysia's target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. TNB plans to integrate bioenergy insights from the training into its electricity generation approach, fostering future collaborations with UTM to advance sustainable energy initiatives.
