Ulsan City and Korea National Oil Corporation have joined forces through a business agreement to advance energy development projects and work towards achieving carbon neutrality. The collaboration will involve initiatives in areas such as the East Sea deep-sea gas field, floating offshore wind power, and ammonia supply systems. Additionally, the two organizations will work together to enhance professional manpower in the energy sector and increase the involvement of local companies in these projects. The partnership is particularly significant given Ulsan City's efforts to establish itself as a hydrogen city and KNOC's focus on demonstration projects like carbon dioxide capture using gas fields in the East Sea. Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-kyum expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting that it paves the way for shared growth and mutual development with KNOC, a global energy company. The mayor expects that Ulsan's reputation as an industrial capital will receive a boost through the synergies created by this joint cooperation.
