Air Liquide is making significant strides in developing a low-carbon hydrogen ecosystem in Normandy with a €50 million investment in a supply chain focused on transport and mobility. The investment will support the growth of hydrogen vehicles along the Seine axis, from Normandy to Île-de-France. The new packaging site, powered by the Normand’Hy electrolyzer, will produce renewable hydrogen to meet the rising demand for hydrogen-powered vehicles. Air Liquide plans to allocate a substantial portion of the electrolyzer's production capacity to supply low-carbon mobility applications, such as hydrogen taxis, corporate fleets, and heavy vehicles. The project is bolstered by partnerships with key players like HysetCo, aiming to fuel vehicle fleets with renewable hydrogen. Additionally, three-quarters of the electrolyzer's output will cater to industries in the Normandy basin, including the TotalEnergies refinery, showcasing Air Liquide's integrated approach to decarbonization. This strategic investment underscores Air Liquide's commitment to the energy transition and reinforces its position in the renewable hydrogen value chain.
