Mitsubishi Corporation and Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security have recently invested in Infinium Holdings, Inc. as part of the Series C round. Infinium, known for its successful Pathfinder project in Corpus Christi, Texas, is now gearing up for its next commercial-scale eFuels project named Roadrunner, set to be the largest eSAF production facility globally. These eFuels are classified as ultra-low carbon alternatives to traditional fossil-based fuels and are produced using green hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Mitsubishi's investment aims to deepen its understanding of eFuels and potentially support future projects, including supplying eFuels to Japan. Infinium's eFuels offer a remarkable reduction of over 90% in greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional fuels, making them an attractive option for hard-to-abate sectors like aviation and transportation. This initiative highlights the increasing interest in eFuels technology as a sustainable solution for reducing carbon emissions and advancing the energy transition towards a greener future.
