President Nangolo Mbumba of Namibia has expressed the country's ambition to lead the global green hydrogen industry. Namibia's renewable energy potential, including abundant wind and sun resources, positions it favorably for green hydrogen production. Collaboration with Germany is planned to establish a strong hydrogen industry and green value chains. The country is actively seeking investors to participate in this sector. To support the industry's growth, Namibia is investing in skills development by awarding scholarships to students in green hydrogen-related fields. Additionally, the government aims to diversify the economy by improving infrastructure and establishing the country as a logistical hub within the Southern African Development Community (SADC). President Mbumba's vision is to transform Namibia into a knowledge-based economy through trade, investment, and sustainable development, fostering prosperity and industrialization.
