SMA Altenso, a subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG, has achieved a significant milestone in green hydrogen production by delivering over 1 GW of power for hydrogen applications. Through projects like the one with Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, Altenso combines photovoltaics, battery storage, and hydrogen production to advance sustainable energy solutions globally. Dr. Jens Eiko Birkholz, Head of Sales & Business Development at Altenso, emphasized the company's success in executing over 80 hydrogen projects, mainly focused on green hydrogen production using PV and wind energy. These projects, supported by Altenso, have the capacity to produce up to 130,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, playing a vital role in industrial decarbonization. SMA CEO Jürgen Reinert underlined the significance of stable grid integration and load control in the evolving energy market, praising SMA's technologies and Altenso's project expertise. Altenso's advanced energy management system (EMS) is tailored to optimize sustainable hydrogen production by leveraging PV forecasts and dynamic demand profiles.
