With top officials present, including Ministers of Industry, Transport, Electricity, Investment, and Petroleum, the meeting emphasized the project's alignment with Egypt's strategy to produce green hydrogen and ammonia as cost-effective alternative fuels. Prime Minister Madbouly stressed the significance of green fuel projects in Egypt's energy sector strategy to boost renewable energy use and decrease carbon emissions by moving away from traditional energy sources. The project aims to enhance local production of green ammonia and position Egypt as a hub for green hydrogen, leveraging incentives and abundant electricity from renewable sources. By pursuing carbon neutrality, Egypt aims to attract investments to the green energy sector while making green fuel available for ships in the Suez Canal and for exports, aiming to establish the country as a regional energy trading center.
