Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd's subsidiary, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd, has entered into a joint development agreement with US-based FuelCell Energy Inc. The agreement aims to co-develop large-scale hydrogen production systems and technologies across the Asia-Pacific region, including countries like New Zealand and Australia. This collaboration follows a memorandum of understanding signed earlier in February 2023. FuelCell Energy will bring its solid oxide electrolyser technology to the partnership, complemented by MHB's expertise in large-scale fabrication. The goal is to create modular solutions that facilitate the swift deployment of commercial hydrogen production capabilities. Both companies have expressed a strong commitment to driving green energy solutions and promoting global decarbonisation and energy transition objectives.
