EP Produzione, a subsidiary of the Czech energy group Energetický a průmyslový holding (EPH), has successfully initiated commercial operations of an 800 MW combined cycle-unit at the Tavazzano and Montanaso power plant in Italy. This €400 million unit boasts cutting-edge H-class gas turbine technology, delivering an impressive efficiency exceeding 62%. Notably, the unit is designed to be hydrogen-ready, showcasing a dedication to innovation and sustainability. By enhancing its capacity, the Tavazzano and Montanaso power plant now reaches a total of 1,970 MW, capable of powering approximately 1.5 million households. Moreover, EPH is actively working on expanding its energy portfolio in Italy, with plans for a new H-class CCGT power plant in Ostiglia scheduled for commissioning by the first half of 2026. Additionally, the company is venturing into 270 MW of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity while exploring various transformative projects in the region.
