The 5th Duqm Forum hosted in Muscat, Oman, focused on exploring investment opportunities across various sectors such as the blue economy, renewable energy, food security, tourism, and infrastructure. Inaugurated by H H Sayyid Harib bin Thuwaini al Said, the forum aimed to attract investments and promote sustainable development in Al Wusta, a region playing a crucial role in Oman's Vision 2040. Al Wusta, under the leadership of Governor Sheikh Ahmed bin Muslim al Kathiri, is actively pursuing renewable energy projects, with investments in green hydrogen, solar energy, and wind energy valued at US$49bn. The region is also embarking on blue carbon projects to create wetlands and mangrove tree cultivation, further enhancing its environmental sustainability efforts. Additionally, investments in food security, fisheries, and infrastructure projects in Al Wusta signify a commitment to sustainable development, job creation, and economic growth. The forum highlighted the region's strategic position in supporting sustainable development, enhancing food security, and diversifying income sources, showcasing a positive outlook on the future of Al Wusta's economic landscape.
