Groningen Seaports in the Netherlands has secured a substantial €4.4 million subsidy from the European Union's Just Transition Fund (JTF) to construct a hydrogen pipeline connecting the ports of Eemshaven and Delfzijl. The project, named Kickstart pipeline and developed by NorthGrid Foundation, is designed to accelerate the region's transition to a green hydrogen economy. This initiative aligns with the European Green Deal, with the JTF allocating €330 million to the Northern Netherlands for climate-neutral projects. The symbolic handover of the subsidy during the Groningen Promotion Days highlights the EU's commitment to sustainable industrial development. Additionally, RWE's approval for a 100 MW electrolyzer near Magnum Power Station will further boost the region's green hydrogen infrastructure. Collaborative efforts involving multiple stakeholders and HyNetworkServices are driving the construction of a high-pressure hydrogen transport network.
