Linde plc, based in Guildford, U.K., has announced a significant agreement to supply clean hydrogen for Dow's Fort Saskatchewan Path2Zero Project in Alberta, Canada. The company will be investing more than $2 billion to construct and operate a world-scale integrated clean hydrogen and atmospheric gases facility. This new complex will utilize autothermal reforming and Linde's proprietary HISORP carbon capture technology to produce clean hydrogen and support Dow's net-zero emissions integrated ethylene cracker. The facility will also supply clean hydrogen to other industrial customers seeking to decarbonize their operations, capturing over 2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Scheduled for completion in 2028, Linde's facility will be Canada's largest clean hydrogen production site and one of the largest globally. Linde's CEO, Sanjiv Lamba, highlighted the company's commitment to building a more sustainable future through this landmark project, emphasizing the role of technology and experience in enabling a transition to a cleaner economy. Dow's Chair and CEO, Jim Fitterling, expressed the importance of collaborations in decarbonizing assets and driving growth.
