H2Terminals Limited and Cadent have signed a memorandum of understanding to supply green hydrogen to industrial end-users in London through the East London Hydrogen Pipeline. This collaboration is part of the Capital Hydrogen project aimed at developing hydrogen infrastructure in London and the Thames Estuary region. The agreement involves H2Terminals supplying green hydrogen produced at its North Sea Energy Island production facility in the 56th Quadrant. The facility will utilize renewable sources like wind, waves, and sunshine to generate the green hydrogen, which will then be liquefied and transported to Thames Estuary via exclusive ships before being distributed through the Cadent pipeline. The partnership between H2Terminals and Cadent is lauded as a significant milestone for green hydrogen infrastructure in London. Gerry Wilkinson, CEO of H2Terminals, highlighted the cost-competitive and climate-friendly aspects of the collaboration, emphasizing its role in advancing the industrial revolution needed to combat climate change. The East London Hydrogen Pipeline, set to be operational by 2030, will link hydrogen production sites near Tilbury and the Thames Enterprise Park to industrial consumers in central East London.
