The Society for the Administration of Energy Participations – SAPE SA in Romania has received funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for a significant project focused on energy storage using green hydrogen. The project, named 'Green hydrogen production unit by electrolysis – Hidrogen HY S.A.P.E. 10', has a budget of 54.6 million RON without VAT, with 29.9 million RON funding through PNRR. The new hydrogen production facility will utilize 3 MW of renewable energy to produce 425 tons/year of green hydrogen, contributing towards energy storage. The project, located in the village of Dârvari, Valea Călugărească commune, Prahova County, aligns with the EU's vision of a hydrogen-based economy to address energy supply and demand fluctuations from renewable sources. SAPE SA's President highlighted the company's commitment to green energy production, storage using hydrogen, and participation in balancing the energy system. The involvement in various energy projects demonstrates SAPE SA's dedication to leveraging technology and sustainability. SAPE SA, established in 2013, has key holdings in energy companies and a share capital of 868.5 million RON, with the Romanian state as its sole shareholder through the Ministry of Energy.
