The Isle of Man is set to introduce a fleet of five new cutting-edge buses from Northern Ireland-based manufacturer Wrightbus. These buses, known as StreetDeck Ultroliners, are designed to be ultra-low emission diesel vehicles with the potential to transition to hydrogen or electric power in the future. The decision to opt for environmentally friendly buses reflects a broader commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon footprints in public transportation. Bus Vannin, the local bus service, will be the recipient of these innovative buses. Ian Bates, the Director of Bus Vannin, expressed enthusiasm about this development, particularly noting that this marks the first order for double-decker vehicles since the onset of the pandemic.
