Accelera™ by Cummins, the zero-emissions division of Cummins Inc., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GAIL (India) Limited to advance green hydrogen technology in India. The partnership aims to leverage Accelera's expertise in hydrogen generation and GAIL's natural gas infrastructure to focus on hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage. The collaboration also aims to explore applications in key sectors such as transportation, power, and steel. Alex Savelli from Accelera highlighted the opportunities in green hydrogen and electrolysis, emphasizing the potential to accelerate adoption across India. The partnership builds on the success of GAIL's green hydrogen plant in Vijaipur, with a 10MW electrolyzer system supplied by Accelera. Rajeev Kumar Singhal from GAIL emphasized the commitment to India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and the ambitious target of producing 5 million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030. The collaboration will also focus on knowledge-sharing, industry standards development, and new applications for green hydrogen to support India's transition to cleaner energy solutions. Accelera's advanced PEM electrolyzer technology, powered by renewable energy, enables green hydrogen production and plays a crucial role in decarbonization efforts. With a strong presence globally, Accelera is set to accelerate India's green hydrogen ecosystem in collaboration with GAIL, supporting the country's transition to a low-carbon future.
