South Korea and Japan are coming together to advance the development of a global hydrogen ecosystem. Hyundai Motor Group and Toyota Motor Corp. are set to support a bilateral cooperation event scheduled for March 10 to 12, 2025. This event will bring together key figures from both companies, as well as high-ranking officials from the political and governmental sectors of the two countries. Discussions will focus on standardizing hydrogen refueling technologies, regulatory and technical standardization cooperation for ammonia, and unifying bilateral standards related to clean hydrogen. Both Hyundai and Toyota have made significant investments in hydrogen fuel cell technology and are among the few automotive companies selling hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to consumers. The collaboration between the two companies has already shown promising signs, with Toyota inviting Korean lawmakers to showcase its hydrogen-related production facilities, and executives exploring collaboration in parts supply chain sharing. This event follows an agreement between South Korea and Japan during a summit in 2024, signaling a strong commitment to cooperation and progress in the hydrogen sector.
