Hyundai Motors New Zealand has introduced the Mighty fuel cell electric light-duty truck, the first hydrogen-powered truck in its segment, for a 12-month pilot test programme. This initiative follows the debut of the Xcient fuel cell heavy-duty truck in New Zealand in 2021. Over the next year, Hyundai NZ, in collaboration with key customers, will evaluate the Mighty fuel cell's performance and potential for inclusion in its product lineup. The truck boasts a 90kW fuel cell stack, a 65kW electric motor, and a 21kWh battery, providing a driving range of approximately 500km per charge with quick refuelling times of 5-10 minutes.
