In a landmark development towards India's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, Tata Motors, in collaboration with the Union Ministers of Road Transport and Highways and New and Renewable Energy, launched the first-ever trials of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in New Delhi. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized hydrogen's potential to revolutionize India's transportation sector by reducing emissions and enhancing energy self-reliance. The trials, funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, will span 24 months and involve deploying 16 hydrogen-powered vehicles on prominent freight routes.
