TR Group has confirmed new purchase agreements bringing 20 hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks (FCEVs) to New Zealand after the collapse of a previous deal. The new fleet includes trucks supplied by Hyundai New Zealand and Global Bus Ventures (GBV). The government and EECA support the plans aiming to provide local jobs and expertise. GBV, a Christchurch-based firm, will complete 16 tractor units with specific technical specifications. TR Group is also collaborating with CH2NGE Fuel Technologies for dual-fuel trucks that run on diesel and hydrogen to reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, they offer battery electric trucks for rental. The hydrogen trucks will be refueled at $16.50 per kg and are part of an initiative to enhance hydrogen infrastructure in New Zealand. TR Group's focus on sustainability and innovation is evident through its diverse fleet portfolio, including hydrogen, dual-fuel, and battery electric trucks.
