The Saudi NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is making significant progress in constructing the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, set to be operational by 2026. With a daily production target of 600 tonnes of green hydrogen, the initiative aims to support global decarbonization efforts by targeting international export markets. By 2024, the project has achieved 60% completion, focusing on key infrastructure like a hydrogen production plant, wind farm, solar energy facility, and an integrated transmission grid. The facility is expected to reduce global carbon dioxide emissions by up to 5 million tonnes annually. The project's innovative design will enable the production of clean hydrogen for various applications, such as transportation and industrial processes, contributing to the adoption of renewable energy solutions and decarbonizing high-emission sectors. To support this endeavor, NGHC has attracted over 9,000 applicants for workforce development and formed partnerships with educational institutions to nurture skilled professionals for the green energy sector.
