EKA Mobility, in partnership with KPIT Technologies and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), launched Kerala's first hydrogen fuel cell bus at the Global Hydrogen & Renewable Energy Summit in Kochi. This collaboration aims to revolutionize urban transport by introducing innovative and sustainable solutions. The project integrates KPIT's hydrogen fuel cell system with EKA Mobility's electric bus platform, supported by BPCL's hydrogen generation and refueling infrastructure in Kochi. Dr. Sudhir Mehta highlighted the focus on innovation and sustainable urban transport, indicating a significant step towards hydrogen-powered public transportation in India. Kishor Patil mentioned KPIT's investment in green mobility and the partnership's role in fostering a hydrogen-powered transport ecosystem. The deployment of the hydrogen bus is expected to drive investments in green hydrogen infrastructure and shape policies for wider adoption of hydrogen-powered vehicles in India, emphasizing the creation of a comprehensive hydrogen mobility ecosystem.
