Tata Motors Ltd. has embarked on a groundbreaking journey by commencing the first-ever trials of heavy-duty hydrogen trucks in India. These 16 trucks are part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission and are set to operate on some of the busiest freight routes in the country, including Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, Jamshedpur, and Kalinganagar. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Tata Motors CV’s Executive Director Girish Wagh flagged off this initiative aimed at revolutionizing the transportation sector and reducing emissions. The trucks, powered by a combination of internal-combustion engines and fuel cells, boast an impressive operational range of 300-500 km and come equipped with advanced driver-assist safety features. This move signifies a significant step towards achieving energy self-reliance and fostering sustainable mobility in heavy-duty trucking. Tata Motors' dedication to innovation and nation-building is reflected in this initiative, marking a milestone in clean, long-haul transportation for India's future growth and development.
