Wrightbus has introduced a groundbreaking 300kW driveline demonstrator hydrogen fuel cell-electric coach at the Cenex Expo, showcasing its ability to travel approximately 620 miles on a single refueling. The vehicle, derived from a GB Kite Hydroliner single-decker bus, features a coach-specific configuration tailored for extended distances and higher payloads. Supported by an Advanced Propulsion Centre grant, the project includes collaboration with Queens University Belfast and hydrogen mobility specialist Symbio. Scheduled for completion in 2025, the development phase aims to have the hydrogen coach operational on roads by 2026. Wrightbus CEO, Jean-Marc Gales, believes this initiative marks a significant advancement in decarbonizing the public transport sector. Recognizing the company's history of pioneering transport innovations, Gales stresses the continuous pursuit of innovation to lead the industry.
